From version 4.0.1 ILIAS supports integration with payment gateway and ERP system. This makes ILIAS a fully automated e-learning webshop capable of selling and delivering online learning til users instantly.

A payment gateway is the software that receives the payment card number from the customer/learner and authorizes payment. In Denmark this is done by PBS which are the only ones who can authorize payment when customers use the national DanKort. PBS also authorizes MasterCard, VISA etc but you can use other authorizers internationally. Ask your bank for details.

PayPal can be considered a payment gateway but does not provide the same security for the customer as other solutions. ILIAS also supports PayPal to some degree but some founding would make PayPal a full featured alternative.

 

The payment gateway that ILIAS currently supports is ePay which also offers you to try with a fee account. Other gateways will be made available if paid for.

 

An ERP (Enterprice, Resource and Planning) or accounting system is used to generate invoices and bookkeeping sales and expenses. Your debtors are created here giving you a complete overview of your sales with zero manual administration. Currently ILIAS supports e-conomic which is an fully online system that has a low monthly fee.

 

ILIAS also introduces support for EAN for the Danish public sector but this must be supported by your ERP as well.
